Builders, Developers Support Jeffco Schools Mill, Bond – Issues 3A & 3B

Builders and developers are absolutely interested and invested in local school districts. A good quality school district has a significant impact on home values for new and long term ownership.

We have two communities adjacent to one another in Thornton. One is located in the Adams 12 District and the other is in the Brighton District. The Adams 12 District has home values of $15,000 to $20,000 more than the Brighton District. The same thing is true in Cherry Creek when compared to Aurora Public Schools and St. Vrain versus the Weld County Ft
Lupton District.
Jefferson County home values are significantly higher than surrounding districts because of the excellence of JeffCo Schools. Developers a
nd builders work hard with local schools to ensure that schools are available to new communities. These efforts include the dedication of school sites like we did in Leyden Rock and support for t
he construction of new schools in these communities.
The key benefit to property owners that don’t have school age children is the property values they enjoy. Property owners benefit generally from a better educated work force but the best argument is the boost to property values.
As a JeffCo property owner I appreciate your efforts to keep JeffCo Schools strong. We support your efforts regarding measures 3A/3B and look for a successful passage of both of them.
