This fall, we will be voting yes to recall Ken Witt, John Newkirk and Julie Williams.

Years ago, we moved to Jeffco for the quality of the school district and the variety of school options. Sadly, we’ve witnessed the deterioration of our schools under the current Board majority.   Our daughter’s class went from 24 kids to 38 kids in one year.  We were told there was not enough money to hire additional teachers although we knew money was being wasted on areas such as a public relations firm, a private attorney, etc.  We also became alarmed at the rate Jeffco teachers were leaving the district.  These teachers are the ones who make the difference in our children’s education.  They are known for collaborating, even taking a pay cut when times were tough in the district.

Initially, we did not understand the motivations of the Board majority.  How could they demonize our teachers?  Why did they not listen to the different stakeholders? We believe they are implementing a national agenda of a political group, Americans For Prosperity.  Why is Americans for Prosperity throwing tons of outside Jeffco money to support the Board majority?  Why is Brad Miller, the Board attorney hired behind closed doors, working for Dougco, Jeffco, and the Thompson School Districts and now the corporation behind one of the newly proposed charter schools?  Why is the Board majority aggressively pushing charter schools affiliated with privately managed entities?

We are proud to stand with parents and community members from all political ideologies as we work hard to keep the decisions about our schools local and partisan politics out of our school district.

Recall the board majority and elect Amanda Stevens, Ali Lasell, Brad Rupert, Susan Harmon, and Ron Mitchell.

Ray and Jodi Lundin
